RELEASE: Democratic State Representatives John Bucy III and James Talarico Endorse Mike Collier for Texas Lt. Governor Against Dan Patrick
AUSTIN, TX –Today, Democratic State Representatives John Bucy III and James Talarico announced their endorsements of Mike Collier in his run to unseat Dan Patrick.
Both elected in 2018, having flipped seats held by Republicans, Representatives Bucy and Talarico have worked closely with Mike Collier to help elect Democrats for nearly a decade, all sharing a passion for Texas public schools and their commitments to Texas students, parents, and teachers. In 2018, Representative John Bucy was named Freshman of the Year by the House Democratic Caucus and in 2021 Representative James Talarico was named one of the Best Legislators by Texas Monthly, among other honors.
Texas Democratic State Representative John Bucy III issued the following statement:
“We know Mike and Mike knows us. That is why I am proud to endorse Mike Collier for Lieutenant Governor. He has consistently been in the fight—working alongside us for years to bring much needed change to the leadership in Texas. Whether it’s expanding Medicaid to bring down the cost of health care, fixing our vulnerable power grid, or making sure students get a quality education, Mike Collier understands the issues facing the people of our state and he will bring real leadership to the office of Lieutenant Governor.
