Austin, Texas — Citing his record tireless work on behalf of Texans, Rep. Donna Howard, Rep. Eddie Rodriguez, and Rep. Gene Wu announced their endorsements of Mike Collier for Lt. Governor. The support comes on the heels of endorsements from Rep. John Bucy, Rep. James Talarico, and 26 members of the State Democratic Executive Committee (“SDEC”) of the Texas Democratic Party in recognizing Mike Collier as the most qualified and best positioned candidate to take on Dan Patrick.
Rep. Donna Howard, House District 48
I’m endorsing Mike Collier for Lt. Governor because Texans desperately need a change in leadership to achieve our full potential. Mike has shown he can run a competitive statewide race and has tirelessly crisscrossed the state talking to voters about the meaningful issues that impact their lives and families. His sensible solutions will ensure that ALL Texans have a chance to share in our state’s success.
Rep. Eddie Rodriguez, House District 51
I’m proud to endorse Mike Collier in his race for Lt. Governor. As a member of the legislature for nearly two decades, I know firsthand the immense power of the Lt. Governor. Texas desperately needs a Lt. Governor like Mike Collier who will champion progress—not stand in it’s way. I know Mike will fight tooth-and-nail to protect a woman’s right to choose, our constitutional right to vote, and our public schools. That is why I am proud to endorse him today.
Rep. Gene Wu, House District 137
We need Mike to win. The lives of Texans depend on it. For too long our state has been run by people who talk a lot but do very little. We need quiet and competent leaders like Mike Collier.
Texas Democratic Candidate for Lt. Governor Mike Collier issued the following statement:
“I want to thank Representatives Howard, Rodriguez, and Wu for placing their trust in me to take the fight to Dan Patrick and bring honest, capable leadership to the office of Lt. Governor. This campaign has the resources and the experience necessary to get the job done, and there’s no doubt in my mind we’ll deliver.”
Mike Collier is a lifelong businessman and energy expert from Houston, Texas. In 2018, he ran the closest race for Lt. Governor in twenty years against Dan Patrick, outperforming the rest of the Democratic ticket in two thirds of Texas counties.
