Austin, Texas — Noting Collier’s deep knowledge of and on-the-ground efforts in the Rio Grande Valley, Chairman of the House Committee on Transportation, Rep. Terry Canales, has endorsed Mike Collier for Lt. Governor. Canales joins State Representatives Howard, Rodriguez, Wu, Bucy, Talarico and 26 members of the State Democratic Executive Committee (“SDEC”) of the Texas Democratic Party in recognizing Collier as the most qualified and best positioned candidate to take on Dan Patrick.
Rep. Terry Canales, House District 40
Mike Collier has made it a priority to listen and learn from the hundreds of thousands of Texans that call the Rio Grande Valley home. He knows us and we know him.
As a lifelong businessman, Mike understands the importance of economics and trade along the border. With Collier in the Lt. Governor’s office, the Rio Grande Valley will have a partner that will put the RGV first and continue to make it the best place to start a business and raise a family. I’m proud to endorse Mike Collier for Lt. Governor and I hope you’ll join me in supporting him.
Texas Democratic Candidate for Lt. Governor Mike Collier issued the following statement:
“The Rio Grande Valley deserves a Lt. Governor who will represent the hundreds of thousands of Texans that call the region home with dignity and not just as a TV backdrop. I want to thank Representative Canales for placing his trust in me to take the fight to Dan Patrick and bring honest, capable leadership to the office of Lt. Governor. Together, we can work to expand healthcare access, improve drainage, and invest in the trade infrastructure across the Rio Grande Valley.”
Mike Collier is a lifelong businessman and energy expert from Houston, Texas. In 2018, he ran the closest race for Lt. Governor in twenty years against Dan Patrick, outperforming the rest of the Democratic ticket in two thirds of Texas counties.
